Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A retail pharmacy in Prophetstown, IL is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge for a Contract to Hire opportunity lasting approximately 13 weeks. This role offers the chance to oversee daily pharmacy operations and assume a leadership position within a dynamic retail environment. Willingness to consider travelers while the search for a local candidate continues.
Schedule and Hours:
- Monday through Friday
- 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- First shift coverage
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and manage pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians
- Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Review and verify prescriptions with a focus on accuracy and patient safety
- Manage medication inventory, controlled substances, and pharmacy record-keeping
- Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to address medication-related concerns and optimize patient care
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy workflow using McKesson Enterprise software
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license
- Experience in pharmacy management or pharmacist in charge (PIC) roles
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance
