Make a difference supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) during an exciting maternity leave assignment. This full-time, contract opportunity offers hands-on experience working with a TK-5th grade caseload in a collaborative and supportive environment. You’ll be supervised by an experienced SLP using teletherapy, ensuring mentorship and strong professional guidance. Before starting, you’ll have the valuable chance to connect directly with the supervising SLP, so you can be confident you’re stepping into a team that fits your style and strengths.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active California SLPA license
  • Minimum of three months’ experience as an SLPA
  • Comfortable supporting elementary students (TK-5th grade)
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are a bonus, though not mandatory
  • Open-minded and eager to work with virtual supervision

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct support to students under SLP supervision
  • Implement speech and language therapy plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Accurately document session activities, progress, and outcomes
  • Participate in virtual team meetings and consult with your supervising SLP for seamless collaboration
  • Foster positive relationships with staff, students, and families to encourage student success

Assignment details:

  • Full-time schedule, covering October 15 through February 4 as a maternity leave replacement
  • Elementary (TK-5) caseload in a welcoming school environment
  • Work closely with a dedicated SLP who’s passionate about mentorship
