Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This full-time role covers a maternity leave from mid-October to early February, providing vital communication support for students in grades TK through 5. As an SLPA, you’ll work closely under the supervision of an experienced and welcoming virtual SLP, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment as you bring meaningful intervention services to students.

Your responsibilities will include implementing individualized student treatment plans, conducting small group or one-on-one therapy sessions, maintaining thorough documentation, and coordinating with teachers and parents to monitor progress. The positive school setting values teamwork, and you’ll have a chance to connect with the supervising SLP beforehand to ensure a good working relationship.

Desired Qualifications:

  • An active California SLPA license
  • Minimum of three months’ hands-on SLPA experience, preferably in a school environment
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, but not required
  • Comfortable working with elementary-age students
  • Willingness to follow guidance from and collaborate with supervising SLP

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech and language services as outlined in IEPs
  • Record and report student progress in a timely fashion
  • Support classroom teachers in integrating communication strategies
  • Participate in staff meetings as needed
  • Adapt to the unique needs of a diverse student population
