Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Olympic NEMT Services is hiring dependable, professional drivers to provide non-emergency medical transportation throughout Thurston, Pierce, and King Counties.

Pay: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience
Company vehicle provided

This position involves transporting passengers to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations. Drivers may transport both ambulatory passengers and passengers who use wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers to scheduled medical appointments and approved destinations
• Operate company-provided wheelchair-accessible vehicles
• Safely secure wheelchairs using required 4-point tie-down and passenger restraint systems
• Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle when needed
• Maintain professional, respectful communication with passengers
• Arrive on time for scheduled pickups
• Accurately complete required trip documentation
• Keep assigned vehicles clean and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Follow all Olympic NEMT Services, transportation broker, insurance, and safety requirements
• Maintain passenger privacy and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State driver’s license
• Acceptable driving record
• Dependable transportation to the assigned company vehicle or work location
• Ability to pass required criminal background checks
• Ability to pass required drug screening
• Ability to meet commercial auto insurance eligibility requirements
• Ability to complete required driver and wheelchair securement training
• Reliable, punctual, professional, and patient
• Comfortable assisting elderly passengers and passengers with mobility limitations
• Willingness to drive throughout Thurston, Pierce, and/or King County

Previous experience in NEMT, paratransit, caregiving, healthcare, transportation, shuttle services, school transportation, rideshare, or professional driving is preferred but not required.

Schedule

Positions may initially be part-time or on-call, with the potential for increased and full-time hours as trip volume grows.

Strong weekday daytime availability is preferred. Some trips may involve early mornings, evenings, hospital discharges, or longer-distance transportation.

Compensation

$22–$25 per hour, depending on experience

Company vehicle provided.

Required training and credentialing will be completed before transporting passengers.
