Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid and current Illinois teaching licensure and certification for teachers of the visually impaired
  • CTE endorsement required
  • Previous experience in K-12 school settings, specifically supporting students with visual impairments
  • Strong assessment and observation skills
  • Comfortable with in-person work (no virtual/VOCO assignments)
  • Ability to begin as soon as possible

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough functional vision assessment and media assessment as requested by the school district
  • Observe the student in the classroom setting to gather insights and provide recommendations
  • Collaborate with other school professionals and provide clear, actionable evaluation results
  • Maintain professional documentation and communicate findings to district staff as required

Additional Details:

  • Contract-based position for evaluation only
  • 1 opening available, with quick start following a successful interview
  • Interviews are conducted virtually and last approximately 30 minutes
