Educational Sign Language Interpreter - New Oxford, PA

Seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school student for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a student’s academic journey while collaborating closely with school staff. The interpreter will work onsite, providing one-on-one communication access during regular academic programming. The schedule will consist of two days per week, with preferred days of Monday and Friday, though some flexibility is available to accommodate the right candidate.

Key Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required.
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting is strongly preferred.
• Ability to onboard in Pennsylvania within one year of your start date.
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and best practices for facilitating communication in academic settings.
• Proficient in American Sign Language, with excellent interpretive and interpersonal skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation services for a high school student during their regular classes and academic activities.
• Collaborate with instructors and staff to support the student’s participation in classroom learning, discussions, and events.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all interactions.
• Adapt communication methods to best fit the student’s preferences and learning needs.
