Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Rutledge, TN

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility to obtain
• Experience working with students who have visual impairments preferred
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials
• Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
• Adaptable, creative, and solution-oriented teaching approach

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with IEP goals for students with visual impairments
• Assess student needs and develop appropriate instructional plans
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and foster inclusive practices
• Provide training on the use of assistive technology and Braille
• Offer guidance and resources to families to extend support beyond the classroom
• Monitor and document student progress, participating in IEP meetings and educational planning
