This full-time school nursing role requires adaptability and confidence, as you’ll float between various campuses, typically assigned a home base, playing a key part in the health rooms and student care from PreK through 12th grade.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee and independently manage a school health room, sometimes as the sole nurse in the building
• Deliver direct nursing care for students, manage medication administration, and respond to health concerns and emergencies
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records, requiring strong technology skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
• Participate in field trips to ensure student wellbeing beyond the school grounds
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents to coordinate care and provide health education as needed
• Collaborate with district health teams to maintain high standards for student safety

Preferred qualifications:

• Valid RN license (active Missouri or compact state licensure covering MO is required)
• Recent pediatric experience, ideally in ICU, ER, or school settings (new graduates not considered)
• Confidence working independently and managing a range of student health needs
• Proficiency with computer-based documentation and communication
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and environments throughout the district

You’ll benefit from a two-week training period before managing a health room solo, with work hours Monday through Friday. Schedules vary from 7:00–2:30 or 9:00–4:30, depending on school type.
