As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you’ll collaborate closely with school teams in a supportive, onsite setting, helping shape accessible, empowering educational experiences.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold an active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification
• Demonstrated experience with students who are blind or visually impaired—preferably in K-12 settings
• Proficiency in adapting and delivering curriculum for various levels of vision and learning needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to consult with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable managing a caseload, developing IEPs, and implementing accommodations
• Passion for fostering independence and academic success among diverse learners

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in a classroom and consultative capacity
• Assess student needs and develop tailored learning strategies, accessible materials, and assistive technology solutions
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, orientation & mobility specialists, and support staff to ensure the integration of specialized strategies
• Monitor progress and participate in IEP meetings, updating goals as necessary
• Offer ongoing support and advocacy for students and their families
