In this exciting contract opportunity based near Sanford, NC, you’ll make a meaningful difference as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) working onsite with a diverse caseload of 20-23 students. Use your expertise to support and empower students with visual impairments through tailored instruction, resources, and advocacy. The position runs through May 2027, offering stability and ample opportunity to develop meaningful connections and professional growth.

You’ll work a consistent 37.5-hour week, collaborating with fellow educators and specialists to help every student thrive academically and personally. This highly rewarding role demands a passionate professional skilled in adapting resources and learning environments to meet each student’s unique needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certificate required
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a K-12 school environment
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum and using assistive technology for students with visual impairments
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction for students with varying degrees of visual needs
  • Assess student abilities and tailor interventions as needed
  • Develop, implement, and review IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Serve as an advocate and resource for students, teachers, and families
