Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a teacher for the visually impaired in a respected collaborative setting near Lowell, MA. This onsite contract opportunity runs from September 1, 2026, through June 14, 2027, offering the flexibility of both full-time and part-time schedules to suit your preference.

Your expertise will empower students with visual impairments, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life skills within an inclusive educational environment. You'll collaborate closely with other dedicated educators and school staff, ensuring that each child receives the accommodations and attention they need to thrive.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher License
  • Active MA Department of Education certification
  • Successful completion of Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTELs)
  • Experience guiding students with visual impairments, preferably in school settings
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to a variety of learner needs
  • Commitment to fostering an accessible and supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
  • Assess student progress and adjust educational strategies as needed
  • Develop and implement accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology solutions
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support student goals
  • Prepare and maintain educational materials in accessible formats
  • Support students in developing orientation, mobility, and self-advocacy skills
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as required
