Job Description
Metrology & Quality Assurance Technician

Picture your shift beginning at a well-organized inspection bench. You open the production schedule, pull up prints and specs, and map out your sampling plan. Through the shift, you move between the line and the lab—verifying parts with calipers and micrometers, setting up the CMM for dimensional checks, and confirming that processes are running within tolerance. When something drifts, you collaborate with operators to adjust, document the finding, and keep product moving safely.

What your day looks like
  • Start by reviewing blueprints and specifications to understand critical features and tolerances.
  • Monitor in-process production to confirm it meets established standards and control plans.
  • Recommend and help implement adjustments to assembly and manufacturing processes when variation appears.
  • Inspect, test, and measure materials and finished goods during production runs.
  • Use calipers, gauges, CMM, micrometers, and other metrology tools to verify conformance.
  • Accept or reject parts based on objective evidence; clearly tag and segregate nonconforming material.
  • Communicate inspection outcomes with production and engineering partners to drive corrective action.
  • Capture and report inspection and test data with clarity and accuracy.
  • Triage and resolve quality-related issues quickly to minimize impact on throughput.
  • Calibrate gauges and maintain complete, traceable calibration records.
  • Learn and assist with CMM and other measuring-equipment programming to expand inspection capabilities.
What you bring
  • Proven experience as a quality inspector or in a closely related inspection role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on results and repeatability.
  • Familiarity with quality testing equipment and measurement systems.
  • Hands-on proficiency with calipers, gauges, CMM, and micrometers.
  • Solid knowledge of quality control standards and test methodologies.
  • Quality certifications are a plus (e.g., ISO 9000, AS9100).
  • Working knowledge of MS Office for documentation and reporting.
Benefits and growth
  • Paid time off
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Retirement benefits
  • Healthcare spending/reimbursement
  • Shift differential
  • Career development opportunities
