Key qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience delivering instruction to students with visual impairments, preferably in a school setting
• Proficiency in Braille and adaptive technology for the visually impaired
• Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Flexibility, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for inclusive education

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative instruction to students, adapting materials and lessons for optimal accessibility and engagement
• Support classroom teachers by recommending strategies and modifications tailored to each student's needs
• Assess students regularly and contribute to IEP meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Train staff and family members in best practices and assistive technology
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports, ensuring compliance with educational standards
