Job Description
Take on a meaningful opportunity near Indianapolis, IN as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in life skills classrooms for the full upcoming school year (September–June). You'll work onsite at one school with a manageable caseload—your primary focus will be an intermediate life skills class of 9 students, assisted by two skilled paraprofessionals. Additional openings are available across various life skills classrooms, covering a multi-categorical caseload and offering the opportunity to shape positive experiences each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for Indiana (IN)
- Previous experience with life skills or multi-categorical caseloads preferred
- Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to full-time onsite work throughout the 26/27 academic year (September–June)
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and modify curriculum to meet IEP goals
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Adapt teaching methods and materials for student success
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
- Cultivate an encouraging atmosphere that empowers every learner
