Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Van Nuys, California

Bring your expertise as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to a fulfilling full-time opportunity working with K-8 students. This contract role offers a vibrant, supportive environment alongside two experienced APE teachers, providing collaboration and assistance with lesson planning. With a diverse caseload and multiple school sites in the Santa Monica and Malibu areas, you’ll be an integral part of creating a dynamic and inclusive physical education program.

In this position, you’ll travel between different campuses, so reliable transportation is a must. You’ll enjoy the chance to make a real difference for students with unique physical education needs while developing professionally in a collaborative setting. The role starts as soon as possible and runs through June 9, 2027.

What You’ll Need:

• Active California teaching licensure in Adaptive Physical Education
• Previous school-based experience (required)
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Santa Monica and Malibu campuses
• Reliable transportation
• Current TB test and fingerprint clearance
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Preference given to fully credentialed candidates

Your Role Will Include:

• Providing adaptive physical education instruction to K-8 learners with a range of abilities
• Collaborating with two other APE teachers to plan and implement engaging, effective lessons
• Assessing student needs and tracking progress
• Working closely with school staff and families to support student development
• Ensuring all records and documentation are completed in a timely manner
