Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a contractor with a focus on behavioral and counseling support. This role supports the Promising Students Program (PSP), providing trauma-informed behavioral and mental health services to meet the needs of students requiring intensive intervention. By utilizing data-driven strategies and early intervention, you will play a key role in fostering positive behavioral change, reducing school removals, and supporting academic and personal growth for students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and small-group counseling, tailoring interventions to student needs
  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational and behavioral assessments
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to inform strategic planning
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Collaborate with the school’s MTSS framework to enhance student support
  • Serve as a consultant for teachers and families, offering expertise and guidance
  • Participate actively in IEP and Section 504 meetings to support student accommodations
  • Assist with crisis response, safety planning, and provide support during high-risk situations
  • Develop thoughtful transition plans for successful reintegration of students into their home schools

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
  • Demonstrated experience in behavioral assessment and counseling within school settings
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and early intervention practices
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and consultative skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Capacity to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
