Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and dedicated Massachusetts-Technology Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering academic success, be committed to inclusion, and demonstrate flexibility in meeting the diverse needs of students.
The selected candidate will adhere to all Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines and regulations, ensuring that students receive the highest quality of instruction and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach computer science courses based on the Massachusetts DLCS curriculum, including but not limited to topics such as coding, algorithms, data structures, programming languages, computational thinking, and computer systems.
Develop and deliver lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with the DLCS curriculum standards and learning objectives.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and resources to enhance student learning experiences and facilitate hands-on coding activities.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students, including those with varying levels of prior computer science knowledge and skills.
Provide clear and constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development in computer science.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in computer science education, attending professional development opportunities and conferences as required.
Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the computer science program.
Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress, achievements, and opportunities in computer science education.
Participate in school-wide events and activities, such as parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and extracurricular programs, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification/license in Computer Science (or ability to obtain certification in MA).
Proven experience in teaching computer science courses, preferably in accordance with the Massachusetts DLCS curriculum.
In-depth knowledge of computer science concepts, programming languages (e.g., Java, Python), and software development methodologies.
Familiarity with computational thinking, coding principles, algorithms, data structures, and computer systems.
Strong pedagogical skills and ability to engage students through effective instructional strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and administrators.
Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in computer science education.
Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Proficiency in utilizing educational technology tools, learning management systems, and coding platforms.
Current authorization to work in the United States.
Additional Requirements:
Background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts state regulations.
Ability to work in compliance with federal, state, and district policies and regulations.
Completion of any required professional development or certifications as mandated by the District.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically inside a school or classroom setting.
Noise levels may vary, but are generally moderate, with occasional higher noise levels due to student activities or group work.
Some travel between classrooms and school buildings may be required.
The role may require lifting, carrying, or moving educational materials or students, as well as the ability to monitor and engage in physical activities.

Compensation and Benefits:
