Inspire young minds and support student growth as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher working with K-8th grade pupils in a dynamic and supportive setting. This full-time contract role offers 35 hours per week split across multiple school sites, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on a diverse caseload while working alongside two experienced Adaptive Physical Education teachers for collaborative planning and shared resources.

Your work will be essential to ensuring all students—no matter their abilities—have access to engaging and tailored physical education. This position starts as soon as possible and will continue through June 9, 2027, providing stability and a chance to build long-term connections with students and the school community.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • School-based experience required, ideally within adaptive/modified physical education settings
  • Current, active California licensure in education and adaptive physical education
  • Willingness and ability to travel between multiple locations (must have reliable transportation)
  • Must complete TB test and fingerprinting prior to start
  • Strong collaborative skills and enthusiasm for teamwork with other APE teachers
  • Preference will be given to credentialed candidates with a demonstrated commitment to inclusive education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt physical education curricula that accommodate diverse abilities
  • Provide direct instruction and guidance for K-8 students, fostering an encouraging and inclusive environment
  • Assess students’ individual needs and progress, updating plans as required
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, parents, and fellow APE educators to support student IEP goals
  • Track data and prepare required reports according to district guidelines
  • Maintain communication with school staff and families
