Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A valued opportunity exists for a Clinical Pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy services within a prominent Los Angeles County Department of Health hospital. This role primarily focuses on providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care in an inpatient setting, ensuring optimal medication management and patient safety.

Location: Torrance, CA
Job Type: Contract, with potential to transition to permanent
Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Flexibility required to work primarily 1st and 2nd shifts, with occasional 3rd shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert clinical pharmacy services to hospitalized patients
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate medication records and assist with medication reconciliation
  • Prepare for and complete competency evaluations as part of the onboarding process

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist with a minimum of approximately 2 years of current inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Preference given to candidates with PGY-1 residency training
  • Strong clinical expertise and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Additional Information:

  • The role offers a contract duration of approximately 4 to 12 months, with the intention to transition to a permanent position within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System (LACDHS)
