Qualifications and Experience:

• Must possess appropriate certification for teaching students with visual impairments.
• Previous experience working with students who are blind or have low vision is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessibility tools.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and students.
• Adaptable and organized, able to manage individual caseloads across multiple grade levels.
• Demonstrated commitment to advocating for the needs of visually impaired learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction in reading, writing, orientation and mobility, daily living skills, and use of adaptive technology.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with each student’s needs and goals.
• Serve as a resource and consultant for teachers and staff, promoting best practices for accessibility and inclusivity.
• Administer assessments and monitor progress, making data-driven adjustments to teaching strategies.
• Provide guidance to families, supporting student growth both at school and at home.
• Facilitate access to curricular materials and adapt resources for accessible formats.
