The Logistics Clerk plays a key role in keeping warehouse logistics organized and ensuring smooth shipping and receiving operations. Working closely with the shipping manager, this position maintains accurate documentation, supports material flow through the dock, and keeps inventory and ERP records up to date. Approximately 40% of the time is spent on the warehouse floor and dock, and about 60% in an air-conditioned shipping office on the floor using a computer to manage labels, work orders, and data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the shipping manager to support daily warehouse logistics and dock operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping and receiving logs for all inbound and outbound materials.
  • Create and manage all documentation required for shipping, receiving, and production, including bills of lading (BOLs), labels, and work orders.
  • Print and apply shipping labels and ensure all documentation is correctly prepared for each shipment.
  • Verify that all incoming material is properly documented, scaled, and recorded according to company procedures.
  • Confirm that adequate inventory is available in stock to fulfill outgoing shipments and production needs.
  • Ensure all material movements and inventory updates are correctly entered and accounted for in the ERP system (CieTrade).
  • Monitor and support adherence to quality standards for shipping, receiving, and material handling activities.
  • Perform accurate data entry using Excel and other computer applications to maintain inventory and logistics records.
  • Provide practical insight from the floor on process efficiencies that can improve day-to-day operations, material movement, and tracking.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and office staff to coordinate shipping schedules and resolve discrepancies in inventory or documentation.
  • Support general administrative tasks related to logistics, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Operate or coordinate use of forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed, following safety procedures.
  • Walk between multiple nearby buildings on the same street to monitor materials, shipments, and inventory as required.
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment by following established procedures and best practices.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using an ERP system for inventory, logistics, or production (CieTrade experience is a plus).
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry in Excel and other systems for shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Comfort working both on the warehouse floor and in an office environment within the facility.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and documentation simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, documentation, scaling, and inventory tracking.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including bills of lading, labels, and work orders.
  • Understanding of inventory control and warehouse inventory practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with warehouse, production, and administrative teams.
  • Capability to walk between multiple buildings on the same street as part of daily responsibilities.
  • Basic customer service skills when interacting with internal stakeholders or external partners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift experience and familiarity with material handling equipment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, including CieTrade, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
  • General proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or dispatch is beneficial.
  • Experience in warehouse inventory management and inventory control processes.
  • Prior exposure to administrative support tasks in a logistics or warehouse setting.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Comfort working in a true industrial environment on the shop floor and dock.
  • Ability to adapt between a fast-paced warehouse setting and a focused office environment.
