School Therapist - Clarksburg, Maryland

Key Qualifications:

• Active licensure from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (required)
• Proven experience as an Art Therapist, ideally within a school setting
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability to rotating school sites
• Compassion, creativity, and commitment to fostering a safe therapeutic environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small-group art therapy sessions to a caseload of 15 students
• Assess student needs, develop therapy goals, and track progress in collaboration with educators and support staff
• Work within various school locations in the district, adhering to established schedules and protocols
• Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards
• Participate in school-based meetings and collaborate closely with other counselors and educational professionals

This role offers the opportunity to engage deeply with students and leverage art as a powerful tool for healing. The assignment runs from August 19th through June 4th, providing consistent, part-time hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (20 hours per week). All services are provided onsite, fostering valuable in-person connections.
