Job Description

Make an impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and/or Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialist in a dynamic contract role. This position serves a well-supported district and involves working with students at multiple school sites, ensuring their academic and mobility needs are met. This rewarding opportunity is available immediately and runs through mid-December, with the possibility of extending for the full academic year. The schedule follows traditional school hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired and/or Orientation & Mobility Specialist
  • Previous experience supporting K-12 students in educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to travel between multiple school sites within the district
  • Commitment to providing individualized instruction and support

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct instructional and consultative services for students with visual impairments
  • Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate goals
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt curriculum and materials
  • Provide orientation and mobility instruction as assigned across various district schools
  • Participate in IEP meetings, documentation, and ongoing communication with families
  • Maintain accurate records and follow established protocols
  • Adapt services as needed based on changing student or district requirements
