Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Stuart, FL

An opening exists for a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) to partner with various schools in the Port St. Lucie area, servicing a diverse population ranging from preschoolers to high school seniors. As an on-site professional, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and therapy teams to help students reach key developmental milestones.

Qualifications:

• Active Florida Department of Health OTA license required
• Previous school-based COTA experience is preferred
• Comfortable working across multiple locations (3-5 schools assigned, sites specified upon placement)
• Ability to work with PreK through 12th grade students
• Must complete district credentialing, including fingerprints (those previously in the AHCA Clearinghouse may be eligible for transfer)

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out occupational therapy interventions according to individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Support OTs in assessments and documentation, tracking student progress and adjusting strategies when needed
• Communicate therapy goals and student support strategies to teachers and families
• Adapt activities and environments to promote student independence across ages and abilities
• Remain flexible while navigating different school settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

This contract role offers a steady schedule of 35 hours per week, running from start date through early June 2027. Each day promises rewarding interactions as you make a tangible difference in school communities throughout the Port St. Lucie area.
