Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in school environments as a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) on a contract basis. With multiple positions available, you’ll play a crucial role in fostering a healthy, safe setting for students at both elementary and middle school levels. This assignment emphasizes direct care, providing essential support to medically fragile students—including those with diabetes, seizure disorders, and those requiring specialized procedures such as g-tube or tracheostomy care.

Your compassion, skill, and adaptability will shine as you manage daily responsibilities like medication administration, health monitoring, and responding calmly to health emergencies. You’ll also ensure student safety during bus transportation and assist with personal care needs, including toileting, diapering, and mobility assistance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active LPN license in the state of Virginia is required
  • Previous experience working in school settings highly preferred
  • Comfortable with supporting students with complex medical needs (g-tube, trach, diabetes, seizures)
  • Capable of assisting with bus riding, toileting, and diapering when needed
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
  • Compassionate, flexible, and professional approach to student care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care and specialized procedures in accordance with student health plans
  • Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions
  • Support teachers and educational staff in promoting a safe classroom environment
  • Accompany students on bus rides to ensure continuous care
  • Maintain accurate health documentation and respond quickly to student medical needs
