Key Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter
• EIPA score of 4.0 (performance and written) required and must be listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry – Dept. of Health)
• RID and NIC certifications also accepted, provided the written component is on file
• Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
• Compliance with district-specific fingerprinting and drug screening in addition to agency credentialing

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide professional sign language interpretation for high school students, educators, and staff members in educational settings
• Facilitate clear communication in classrooms, assemblies, and special education meetings
• Support students’ participation in all school-related activities as assigned
• Collaborate with educational teams to maximize student engagement and learning
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards of the interpreting profession
