Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Visual Impairment and/or Orientation & Mobility
  • Experience teaching or providing services to students with visual impairments
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Capable of working independently and traveling between school sites
  • Flexible, collaborative, and adept at adapting to new environments

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and services for students with visual impairments in multiple schools throughout the district
  • Provide expertise in adapting materials, accessibility, and orientation & mobility training
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families on student accommodations and progress
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and related assessments
  • Maintain communication and documentation as required by district policies
