Final Inspector


Location: Landmeier Road Plant, Elk Grove Village, IL

Department: Final Inspection / Quality

Reports To: Quality Supervisor


Position Summary


Amitron is seeking a reliable and detail oriented Final Inspector to perform visual and basic dimensional inspection of manufactured products before they are released for shipment.

Previous printed circuit board experience is not required. Candidates with inspection or quality experience from other manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply. Amitron will provide training on printed circuit board quality requirements and acceptance criteria.

This position is well suited for someone who is comfortable performing detailed, repetitive inspection work and has the ability to recognize defects, follow written requirements, and consistently make quality decisions.


Responsibilities


· Perform repetitive visual inspection of finished products to determine whether product meets quality and customer requirements.

· Identify cosmetic, workmanship, dimensional, and manufacturing defects.

· Compare finished product to drawings, specifications, samples, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.

· Make accept or reject decisions based on established quality standards.

· Use magnification, microscopes, calipers, gauges, and other basic inspection equipment as required.

· Perform basic dimensional measurements and verification.

· Perform limited rework or minor correction of product when authorized.

· Separate and identify nonconforming or questionable product.

· Escalate questionable conditions or defects to the Quality Supervisor.

· Complete inspection records, travelers, and other required paperwork accurately.

· Verify part numbers, revisions, quantities, markings, and other product requirements.

· Follow all written procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality procedures.

· Handle finished products carefully to prevent damage or contamination.

· Maintain an organized and clean inspection work area.

· Communicate recurring defects or quality concerns to Quality and Production.

· Learn and apply PCB inspection requirements and IPC acceptance criteria through company provided training.

Requirements


· High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.

· Previous experience in inspection, quality control, manufacturing, production, assembly, or other detail oriented work preferred.

· PCB experience is not required.

· Ability to perform repetitive visual inspection while maintaining attention to detail.

· Ability to recognize small differences, defects, damage, or inconsistencies in manufactured products.

· Ability to read and understand basic drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.

· Basic ability to use measuring and inspection tools or willingness to learn.

· Good reading and writing skills.

· Ability to accurately complete inspection paperwork and production records.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English as required to understand work instructions, safety requirements, and quality documentation.

· Ability to work independently and consistently follow established inspection criteria.

· Willingness to learn printed circuit board manufacturing and inspection requirements.


Preferred Qualifications


The following experience is helpful but not required:

· Manufacturing quality inspection

· Electronics or electronic assembly inspection

· Medical device manufacturing

· Automotive parts inspection

· Aerospace manufacturing

· Machining or fabricated parts inspection

· Plastics or injection molding inspection

· Metal stamping or sheet metal inspection

· Precision assembly

· PCB manufacturing or inspection

· Experience with microscopes or magnification equipment

· Experience with calipers, micrometers, gauges, or other measurement tools

· Knowledge of IPC acceptance criteria

Training


Amitron will provide training in printed circuit board inspection, common PCB defects, customer requirements, company quality procedures, inspection equipment, and applicable IPC acceptance criteria.

Previous PCB experience is valuable, but candidates with strong manufacturing inspection experience from other industries will be considered.
