General Laborer - Charles City

Join a large-scale solar energy site as a general laborer supporting the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. In this role, you perform basic general labor and maintenance tasks using hand tools across an active solar facility, contributing directly to the reliable operation of a major renewable energy project.

• Perform general labor duties to support the O&M team at a utility-scale solar energy center.
• Use basic hand tools to complete routine maintenance and operational tasks on the solar site.
• Carry out assigned work safely and efficiently in an outdoor environment and across varying weather conditions.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from site leadership and adhere to established procedures.
• Arrive on time and maintain consistent attendance to support daily operations and scheduled work.
• Assist with construction-related and site upkeep activities as needed to maintain a clean, organized, and functional work area.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks and meet project timelines.
• Comply with all safety guidelines, site rules, and O&M standards while working on equipment and around active solar infrastructure.

• General construction background with hands-on experience in basic labor tasks.
• Experience working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and environmental elements.
• Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively for maintenance and general labor work.
• Capability to follow directions accurately and complete tasks as instructed.
• Reliability in showing up on time and maintaining a consistent work schedule.
• Comfort working on and around solar or similar industrial sites.

• Prior experience in solar, construction, or other industrial labor environments.
• Familiarity with operations and maintenance activities on large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically active tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet operational goals.

The role offers regular overtime potential, with approximately five hours of overtime per week and more available, supporting strong earning potential. You work on a 500 MW solar project, performing O&M tasks directly on site in an outdoor, field-based setting. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday for approximately 40–45 hours per week, with additional overtime available. The role involves physical labor, frequent use of basic hand tools, and regular exposure to the elements, including sun, wind, and varying temperatures. You operate within an industrial solar facility environment that emphasizes safety procedures, clear communication, and coordinated teamwork across a large, active energy installation.

This is a Contract position based out of Charles City, VA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
