Job Description
Step onto the production floor at 4:30 PM and help build the semi‑trailers that keep America moving. From Monday through Thursday, you’ll run fabrication and assembly equipment, follow blueprints to exact tolerances, and keep our line moving safely and efficiently. Overtime is available, and no prior experience is required—we’ll train you to succeed.
What You’ll Do (Day in the Life)- Interpret blueprints and job orders to confirm dimensions, tolerances, and required tooling before you begin.
- Set machine controls to synchronize multi-step operations in the proper sequence, including feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and fixture usage.
- Perform initial machine startups to create a sample, measure against specs, and make adjustments to ensure conformance.
- Adjust dies and controls as needed to achieve quality standards and meet specification requirements.
- Stage and move materials using an overhead crane, forklift, powered/hand carts, or by hand, keeping the work cell supplied.
- Build subassemblies and participate in the installation and assembly of semi‑trailers on the production line.
- Maintain a clean, orderly workstation and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Use a computer to verify and record necessary information.
- Pitch in with other routine tasks as production needs evolve.
- Wages starting from $20.65/hour
- +$.50/hour night shift premium
- Two weeks paid vacation
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2nd Shift (4:30 PM–3:00 AM)
- Available overtime
- No previous experience required
- Comfort using pneumatic power tools and department-specific equipment (including welding equipment as applicable).
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools.
- A knack for learning, retaining, and executing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to follow written and verbal instructions and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to read and understand shop orders and prints; use a computer to verify information.
- Commitment to productivity targets while minimizing scrap, waste, and costs.
- Attention to quality—inspect your work per standard operating procedures.
- Effective English communication skills.
- Organizational ability to lead a crew of 3–4 employees when needed.
- Work in both office and plant environments.
- Stand and move on concrete for 8–12 hours per shift.
- Frequently: see, walk, bend, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, carry, climb (including ladders), work overhead, push, and pull.
- Lift up to 35 lbs repeatedly during the shift.
- Maneuver large parts/assemblies up to 180 lbs by pushing, pulling, or flipping them with material-handling devices.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness.
- Wear all required PPE—at minimum protection for eyes, ears, hands, head, body, and feet.
