Industrial Production Equipment Operator

A day in this roleYou arrive to a well-organized production floor and start your shift by checking machine status, reviewing technical drawings for the day’s runs, and confirming safety guards and settings. Throughout the day, you keep equipment humming at peak efficiency, adjust parameters when needed, and document output so the team can hit deadlines. You jump in to troubleshoot a sensor alert, perform a quick preventive check, and coordinate with teammates to keep the line flowing. Before wrap-up, you log production data, flag any anomalies for your supervisor, and leave your station spotless for the next operator.
What you’ll do- Run and continuously monitor multiple machines to maintain optimal performance.
- Handle routine maintenance tasks and diagnose minor equipment issues.
- Adhere to safety practices and keep a clean, orderly work area.
- Review and interpret blueprints and technical specs to guide setups and checks.
- Work closely with peers to achieve production targets and meet deadlines.
- Record production metrics and promptly escalate issues to supervisors.
- Support onboarding by helping train new operators on equipment and safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
- Hands-on experience as a machine operator or in a comparable manufacturing role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid problem-solving ability.
- Comfort reading and applying technical documents and blueprints.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to succeed both independently and within a team setting.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including overtime when required.
