Un Mundo de Amigos Preschool serves over 100 children annually and provides high quality early childhood education to children living in traditionally underserved communities. Following the guidelines of the Reggio Emilia approach, we provide a safe learning environment for all children to reach their potential. Un Mundo de Amigos is committed to providing a world-class preschool education to children living in underserved areas within the City of Long Beach.

Position Summary
We are hiring passionate, creative educators to join our school and help bring learning to life for our children. Working closely with a Lead Teacher, this position creates an engaging, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, celebrated and eager to grow. The Teacher is responsible for supporting the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with Un Mundo de Amigos’ philosophy, accreditation standards and state guidelines.

Compensation & Benefits
The compensation for this position is $20.00 - $23.00. This position is also eligible for the following benefits:

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing, inclusive and safe classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of all children.
• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain a respectful and engaging classroom culture.
• Observe and document children’s progress using assessments and maintain accurate developmental records and portfolios.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families to build strong partnerships, including participating in parent-teacher conferences and sharing resources.
• Follow school-wide initiatives, policies and procedures.
• Assist in the execution of classroom and school events.
• Help maintain the classroom environment, including organizing materials, preparing activities and following daily routines and schedules.
• Provide coverage for rest breaks and meal periods.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• A current Associate Teacher Permit or higher, or eligibility for one.
• At least 1 year of experience working with young children.
• Ability to work collaboratively and respond to the individual needs of children.
• Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Commitment to the mission of high-quality, inclusive early childhood education.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with parents, children and staff.
• Remain current on early childhood education trends.
• Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
