Shipping & Receiving / Inspection

Overview

Anderson Shumaker Company is seeking a full-time Shipping & Receiving / Inspection team member to support our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for receiving materials, inspecting forged and machined products, preparing shipments, maintaining accurate documentation, and safely moving materials throughout the facility while ensuring compliance with company quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and verify they meet purchase order and company requirements.
• Inspect finished forged and machined products to ensure customer specifications and quality requirements are met.
• Perform visual inspections for cracks, laps, seams, and other surface defects.
• Measure parts using calipers, tape measures, hardness testers, scales, and other measuring equipment.
• Record inspection results and production information accurately on production documentation.
• Review production paperwork to verify all required manufacturing operations have been completed.
• Identify and report nonconforming materials or products and notify the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare shipments by palletizing, bundling, wrapping, banding, and labeling materials for shipment.
• Verify shipping paperwork is complete and matched to the correct parts before shipment.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
• Move materials between departments to support production and shipping schedules.
• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company quality procedures, work instructions, and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, shipping and receiving, warehouse, or inspection experience preferred.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, scales, and hardness testers is preferred.
• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read production paperwork and follow work instructions.
• Forklift, overhead crane, and hoist experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, scales, and other department equipment.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with overtime as required.
