Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
Job Description
This role is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming materials, supporting manufacturing and shipping operations, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment. You will verify documentation, handle material movement, and collaborate closely with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate flow of materials through the facility.
Hours: 2:30pm-11:00pm
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming materials by taking basic measurements to verify against packing slips and system item descriptions.
- Count and/or weigh incoming quantities to confirm accuracy against packing slips.
- Obtain and review material certifications as required by inspection plans.
- Verify material certificates against internal data and scan documents as needed for manufacturing and quality records.
- Notify Quality Inspectors of additional inspection requirements for enterprise-critical items.
- Receive approved products into the Business Central system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Load and unload trucks daily, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
- Assist manufacturing by preparing materials for outside processes such as plating and oxidizing.
- Receive and log RMRs promptly and work directly with the Sales team on any discrepancies.
- Prepare the monthly scrap report for leadership review and transmission.
- Notify Purchasing and Quality departments promptly of any discrepancies on incoming products.
- Maintain the cardboard aisle to ensure it remains clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintain the outside fenced area by keeping it clean and organized, labeling materials, and removing snow and spreading salt as needed.
- Assist with bringing in skids and materials for manufacturing as required.
- Empty the cardboard compactor when necessary to support ongoing operations.
- Communicate promptly with different departments via email or verbally to keep them informed of receivables and material status.
- Assist the Shipping team with shipping tasks as needed to meet customer and production requirements.
- Communicate with the department manager on all issues related to discrepancies on incoming shipments and receipts.
- Move heavy materials safely and request assistance from nearby team members when handling heavier items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production, shipping, and general operations.
This is a Contract position based out of Grayslake, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
