LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Tax Specialist at our manufacturing client in Philadelphia, PA Metro area. This is their headquarters. The Tax Department Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Corporate Tax Department in the area of tax processing, general administrative duties, and other projects as assigned.

Temp to perm - 3 months expected

Position Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day planning, problem solving and execution of the following duties:
  • Provide tax accounting, clerical and administrative support to the tax department in a manner that optimizes efficiency, resources and client satisfaction.
  • Review, code and process payment, check deposits and related journal entries.
  • Sort, track and handle correspondence (both mail and email).
  • Assist in organizational/record keeping tasks.
  • Filing Sales/Use Tax returns and other indirect filings as needed.
  • Reconciliation of Sales and Use Tax Data files.
  • Logging and tracking of state tax credits from one period to the next.
  • Process (type, proof and mail) various types of documents, including letters and general correspondence.
  • Provide information with respect to the annual report filings for all legal entities.
  • Support filing of business registrations and licenses.
  • Respond to inquiries made by taxing authorities with respect to returns filed and tax paid.
  • Assist in special projects as assigned.
Education/Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in an Administrative support role, preferably in Accounting or Tax department
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Other Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
  • Must be highly motivated individual with high level of initiative and an attitude of willingness to learn and conceptualize quickly. Ability to operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide superior customer service and maintain cooperative working relationships, one-on-one or in group settings.
  • Ability to work in an empowered team environment, including the ability to effectively communicate, share information, resolve issues, and give and receive both positive and negative feedback in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work autonomously or with a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise strict confidentiality.
  • Any knowledge of tax is great but indirect tax exp is a HUGE plus.
  • Would be a great role for someone that used to be in the fast paced big 4 world and would like to calm down in their career.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour
