This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide range of material handling equipment, including forklifts, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, and floor care machines. You will perform preventative maintenance and repair work on customer fleets directly at their locations, ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of material handling equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, and floor care equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to support accurate diagnosis and repair of equipment systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, valves, and cylinders.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, including air lines, valves, and related components.
- Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs on equipment as needed.
- Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and repair techniques to complete work safely and efficiently.
- Document work performed, parts used, and equipment status in a clear and accurate manner.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of mechanic experience, preferably working with industrial, diesel, or automotive equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with minor electrical troubleshooting on equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in diesel or automotive technology is highly beneficial.
- Comfort using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools in a repair environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing equipment issues.
This is a Permanent position based out of Decatur, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
