Insulation Technician

Job Description

The Insulation Technician installs fiberglass insulation in new construction multifamily and commercial properties, using general hand tools to measure, cut, and properly fit materials according to project specifications and construction standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install fiberglass insulation in new construction multifamily and commercial buildings according to project plans and quality standards.
  • Measure spaces accurately using a tape measure to determine required insulation dimensions and quantities.
  • Cut insulation materials precisely using a box knife and other general hand tools to ensure clean edges and proper fit.
  • Fit and secure insulation in walls, ceilings, and other designated areas to meet thermal and building code requirements.
  • Follow construction and installation procedures to maintain safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship on each job.
  • Work collaboratively within a small team of 1–2 people and complete tasks independently when required based on job size.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, handling tools and materials safely and responsibly.
  • Adhere to all site safety guidelines and use tools and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Communicate progress and any issues encountered on the job site to the appropriate contact or team members.

Essential Skills

  • General labor experience in construction preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a physical labor setting.
  • Ability to use general hand tools, including tape measure and box knife, safely and effectively.
  • Capability to perform installation tasks involving cutting and fitting insulation materials.
  • Comfort working in construction environments, including new build multifamily and commercial properties.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including standing, bending, lifting, and working with materials throughout the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in construction, installation, or insulation work is an advantage.
  • Experience working in small teams on job sites.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measuring and cutting materials.
  • Reliability and willingness to follow established safety and work procedures.

Work Environment

You work primarily on new construction multifamily and commercial job sites as part of a small crew of 1–2 people, with occasional assignments completed independently depending on project size. The role involves using basic construction tools such as tape measures and box knives in active building environments, performing hands-on, physical tasks throughout the day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liberty Lake, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
