Production Labor (2nd Shift)
Job Description
Join our team as a Production Laborer for the 2nd shift, working from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. You will primarily be involved in the deburr, powder coat, and finishing departments, where you will utilize hand and power tools to ensure products meet precise specifications.
Responsibilities- Utilize hand tools and small power tools to safely remove burrs and create edge breaks.
- Inspect part dimensions to ensure adherence to blueprint specifications and identify any quality issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints to verify configuration meets requirements.
- Use measuring equipment such as gauges, scales, and calipers.
- Pretreat, clean, mask, prime, and powder coat a variety of parts as needed.
- Assist with material handling work, including manual lifting.
- Load parts correctly onto the line for maximum line capacity.
- Apply plugs and tape onto parts.
- Work with a grinder to prep materials for welding.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with sanding, grinding, and deburring steel components and materials.
- Manually move materials within the facility.
- Cross-train in the machining department by assisting with machine setups and loading/unloading materials and finished products.
- Maintain housekeeping and area upkeep.
- Engage in various production and labor-intensive tasks throughout the day.
- Experience deburring and grinding parts.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Experience working within a welding/fabrication environment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Experience in material handling and production environments.

Work EnvironmentWork in a fabrication shop environment that is non-climate controlled. The role requires being on your feet all day and engaging in various production and labor-intensive tasks.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
