We are looking for a detail-oriented Controller to join our team on a Contract basis in Putnam, Connecticut. This role will oversee core accounting activities while supporting financial accuracy, reporting integrity, and organized documentation practices. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in general ledger management, month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting, along with the ability to maintain well-structured financial records and scanned documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Lead daily accounting operations, including oversight of the general ledger and maintenance of accurate financial records.
• Manage the month-end close process by reviewing entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely completion of reporting deadlines.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts by analyzing financial results, identifying trends, and supporting business planning decisions.
• Organize, compile, and maintain financial documents to ensure records are complete, accessible, and audit-ready.
• Coordinate document control activities, including scanning and filing accounting materials in a structured and compliant manner.
• Review financial data for accuracy and consistency, resolving discrepancies and improving reporting reliability.
• Support internal and external reporting needs by producing clear financial summaries and required documentation.• Proven experience working in a Controller or senior accounting capacity.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and account reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience managing month-end close activities and financial reporting timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to develop budgets and forecasts using financial analysis.
• Comfortable handling document control, document compilation, and scanning of business records.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive financial information accurately.
• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet-based analysis tools.
