Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations. In this role, you will manage relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and cultivating partnerships with new vendors. You will play a critical role in managing corporate spenddriving cost reductions, enhancing profitability, and improving operational efficiency. Additionally, you will monitor and track supplier performance to guarantee top-tier product quality and on-time delivery.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesStrategic Procurement & Governance: Develop, implement, and maintain purchasing policies, contract management instructions, terms & conditions, and procurement systems.
Supplier Relationship Management: Locate, interview, and evaluate potential vendors for materials, equipment, and supplies. Serve as the primary representative in negotiating vendor contracts and formulating joint policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Engineering and Quality teams to define detailed supplier requirements and develop product/equipment specifications.
Bidding & Contract Administration: Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing bids, awarding contracts, and preparing bid awards requiring board-level approval.
Sourcing & Cost Optimization: Develop and execute strategic cost-reduction initiatives and savings plans. Analyze market trends, supply channels, and material availability to mitigate supply risks.
Purchasing Operations: Administer online purchasing systems, process purchase requisitions/orders, and maintain accurate inventory records for ordered and received goods.
Compliance & Dispute Resolution: Ensure purchase orders, claims, and contracts comply with company policy. Resolve vendor/contractor grievances, claims, and performance issues promptly.
Asset & Process Management: Arrange for the disposal of surplus materials and implement continuous process improvements across organizational purchasing workflows.
Reporting & Data Analysis: Prepare comprehensive reports on market conditions, merchandise costs, and supply chain performance metrics.
Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 2+ years of professional procurement or supply chain experience with a track record of success in a purchasing role.
Industry Background: High Mix Low Volume manufacturing experience required. Experience with automotive OEMs (Stellantis)
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Analytical & Commercial Acumen: Strong expertise in cost modeling, market analysis, and supply-and-demand forecasting.
Negotiation & Leadership: Proven ability to negotiate high-value contracts, resolve complex supplier challenges, and manage multiple programs/customers simultaneously.
Soft Skills: Self-motivated with excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and externally.

Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and reaching throughout the day.
Repetitive hand and finger movement (typing, writing).
Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs.
