We are looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to support an alternative investment management organization in Menlo Park, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who brings strong fund accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a predominantly onsite environment. The position focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, reviewing key accounting activity, and contributing to the integrity of fund reporting and operations.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee core fund accounting activities to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and prepared in accordance with reporting requirements.
• Review journal entries and supporting documentation to confirm proper classification, accuracy, and compliance with internal accounting standards.
• Monitor cash transactions and capital activity across funds, ensuring timely recording and reconciliation of investment-related movements.
• Support the preparation of periodic financial reports, schedules, and account analyses for management and other stakeholders.
• Assist with fund valuations and related review processes, helping maintain consistency and reliability in investment reporting.
• Partner with internal teams and external parties during audit cycles by providing documentation, explanations, and accounting support.
• Contribute to budgeting and financial control processes by analyzing balances, variances, and operational activity within assigned funds.
• Use accounting systems and fund administration tools effectively to maintain data quality and improve day-to-day accounting workflows.• Strong experience in fund accounting, preferably within an alternative investment, private capital, or venture capital environment.
• Demonstrated ability to review journal entries and identify discrepancies, classification issues, or reporting concerns.
• Working knowledge of cash activity, capital transactions, reconciliations, and period-end close processes.
• Familiarity with accounting software platforms, including experience with Abila MIP or similar financial systems.
• Background supporting audits, preparing financial schedules, and maintaining well-organized accounting documentation.
• Understanding of budgeting practices, financial controls, and accounting operations within an investment-focused organization.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Menlo Park, California four days per week.
