Job Description

As a Painter, you will be responsible for mixing materials for spray painting or protective coating applications on various complex operations, including sealing. You will work from production schedules, work orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions to maintain the highest quality within schedule and budget constraints. Your expertise in surface preparation, cleanliness, and masking is crucial, and you will ensure equipment maintenance and precision in applying coatings to exact tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Mix materials for spray painting or protective coatings.
• Execute complex painting operations on various details and assemblies.
• Work from production schedules, blueprints, and verbal instructions.
• Maintain high quality standards within schedule and budget constraints.
• Prepare surfaces, ensure cleanliness, and apply masking.
• Maintain equipment and apply coatings to very close tolerances.
• Inspect and utilize equipment to measure coating thickness.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including decimals and fractions.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledgeable in the use of inspection equipment for coating thickness measurement.
• Ability to use and adjust measuring instruments.
• Minimum of one year of experience in painting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting, particularly in aircraft paint preparation and application.
• Proficiency with spray guns and paint booths.
• GED or high school diploma.

Work Environment

You will work in a temperature-controlled production facility with a casual dress code that includes closed-toe shoes, safety eyewear, and long pants or jeans without holes. The environment promotes safety and comfort to ensure optimal performance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
