Lead Welder/SupervisorUSA Waste and RecyclingUSA Waste and Recycling, IncPosition Summary:The Lead Welder/Supervisor oversees daily welding and fabrication operations while remaining hands-on with production work. A working lead welder supervisor splits time between hands-on metal fabrication/welding and directing shop floor operations. Employee Assistance Program.Training and development opportunities with a growing, family-owned company.Your Role:Lead daily welding/fabrication operations, including workflow, production schedules, quality, and team productivity.Perform hands-on welding and fabrication while balancing supervisory responsibilities.Train, coach, schedule, and evaluate team members; address performance issues in line with company policy.Maintain safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance across the shop.Improve productivity, reduce rework/scrap, maintain equipment logs/SOPs, and resolve production issues with management.Collaborate with other departments and adapt duties as business needs change.Maintain reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervise welders and techniciansInterview, train, appraise performance, recommend wage increases, promote, discipline, and terminate employees as appropriate.Order parts/supplies and resolve issues with other departments.Your Skills: Mechanical, welding, and electrical experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong organization, time management, problem-solving, and stress-management skills.Proactive, hardworking, collaborative, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Desirable Requirements:High school diploma or GED; welding certificate preferred.3-5 years of supervisory experience.5+ years of welding, sheet metal forming, or fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to operate welding equipment and read engineering drawings.Physical Demands:Listed below are key points regarding the job's environmental demands and work environment.
