Accounts Payable Accountant

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing, approval, reconciliation, and reporting of accounts payable transactions. This role supports financial close activities, audit requirements, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain efficient and compliant accounts payable operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve payments, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and authenticity of payment workflows.
  • Perform reconciliation activities, including intercompany, customer, and vendor account reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized document archiving and filing systems in compliance with company requirements.
  • Execute monthly-end and year-end closing activities related to the accounts payable function.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation in support of internal and external audits.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports and other management-requested analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and accounting procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve company policies, workflows, and system processes.
  • Support system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives related to accounts payable operations.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting ora related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounts payable.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and functions.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with strong learning agility and adaptability.
