Position Overview
The Banquet Event Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of banquet and event operations. This role ensures that all events are delivered in accordance with company standards, client expectations, and operational requirements. The position oversees event logistics, front-of-house service execution, staff performance, and client coordination. The Event Manager serves as a key ambassador of the VIVÂMEE brand, curating seamless, high-touch guest experiences while driving team performance, operational efficiency, and revenue optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned events from initial planning through execution and post-event follow-up
- Review and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Develop event timelines, floorplans, and service plans
- Conduct client meetings to confirm event details, expectations, and changes
- Participate in weekly BEO and operations meetings to review upcoming events and identify risks
- Oversee all event-day operations, including setup, service, and breakdown
- Assign duties to front-of-house team members and supervise execution of service standards
- Ensure staffing levels meet company guidelines and service requirements
- Conduct pre-event inspections of event spaces and equipment to confirm readiness
- Monitor event flow and guest experience; address issues as they arise
- Ensure proper breakdown, cleaning, and reset of event spaces
- Interview, hire, train, and evaluate captains, servers, bartenders, and setup staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and exceptional service delivery
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and recognition to elevate team performance
- Ensure staff adherence to grooming, uniform, and service standards
- Schedule staff in alignment with event needs and labor guidelines
- Coordinate with internal and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of services
- Oversee event logistics including rentals, décor, and equipment
- Confirm all vendor services align with event specifications and timelines
- Maintain inventory levels of smallwares, linens, and event equipment
- Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and storage of all equipment
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet, event, or hospitality operations.
- Experience managing full-service events, including weddings and corporate functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Event Management, or related discipline preferred.
- Enthusiasm for the company and its growth potential, Sharp negotiation and networking skills, and Problem-solving skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of banquet service, food and beverage operations, and event logistics.
- Strong organizational, multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to resolve operational issues in real time.
- Proficiency with event management systems and standard office software.
- Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques
Work Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift moderate weight as needed.
- Strong attention to detail in both administrative and operational tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs as needed for event setup and breakdown.
