Accounts Payable SpecialistMeyer Oil Co / Mach 1 Teutopolis, IL Full-Time | $23-$27 per hourMeyer Oil Co / Mach 1 owns and operates a chain of 25 convenience stores throughout Central and Southern Illinois and Indiana. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join the accounting team at our corporate office in Teutopolis.This position will focus primarily on accounts payable and the day-to-day processing and organization of vendor invoices and payments. Previous accounts payable or accounting experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train a motivated candidate who is organized, comfortable working with numbers and interested in developing their accounting experience.ResponsibilitiesProcess and enter vendor invoices accurately and timelyReview invoices for proper coding, approvals and supporting documentationPrepare and process vendor paymentsReconcile vendor statements and research discrepanciesMaintain accurate accounts payable recordsCommunicate with vendors and store personnel regarding invoices and payment questionsAssist with account reconciliations and other routine accounting functionsPerform data entry and maintain organized electronic and paper recordsAssist the accounting department with additional duties as neededQualificationsAccounts payable, bookkeeping or general accounting experience preferred, but not requiredAssociate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field is a plusComfortable working with Microsoft Excel and learning new softwareStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently while also being part of a teamDependable and able to handle recurring responsibilities and deadlinesCompensation & Benefits$23-$27 per hour, based on experienceFull-time positionHealth insurancePaid time off401(k) with company matchEmployee fuel discounts and free car washesFlexible work environment to accommodate personal commitmentsThis is a great opportunity for someone with accounts payable experience or for a recent graduate looking to begin a career in accounting with an established, locally owned company.Background Screen Required
