STAFFING COORDINATOR – NURSING DEPARTMENT
Position Summary
The Staffing Coordinator manages daily scheduling for the nursing department to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts. This role builds and maintains staff schedules, fills open shifts, tracks attendance, and supports compliance with staffing requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to make quick decisions under pressure in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Build, post, and maintain daily and monthly nursing schedules for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs across all shifts.
Fill call-offs and open shifts by contacting available staff, coordinating shift swaps, and arranging coverage.
Monitor staffing levels against required ratios and census to ensure adequate coverage each shift.
Track attendance, time-off requests, and call-offs; escalate patterns to the DON or HR as needed.
Maintain accurate records of hours worked, overtime, and scheduling changes.
Support PBJ data accuracy by ensuring worked hours are properly recorded and reported.
Communicate schedule changes clearly and promptly to nursing staff and leadership.
Assist with onboarding new nursing staff into the scheduling system.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
One or more years of scheduling, staffing, or administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting, preferred
Familiarity with scheduling and timekeeping software.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and handle frequent interruptions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of skilled nursing staffing requirements a plus.

CNA certification is a plus
Work Environment
This is an onsite position based at the facility. Some evening, weekend, and on-call availability may be required to address staffing needs
