Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — Hydraulics & Pneumatics

Picture this: an assembly line pauses mid-shift. You step in—methodical, safety-first, and unflinching. You diagnose complex mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across production machinery—assembly lines, metal fabrication tools, material handling systems, and even automated lubrication setups—then bring them back to peak performance.

What a Typical Day Looks Like
  • Pinpoint the root cause of equipment issues through careful inspection and testing.
  • Disassemble machines to access and resolve hard-to-reach problems.
  • Measure components to identify wear, alignment issues, and other faults.
  • Swap out damaged parts in drive trains and hydraulic assemblies.
  • Track down compromised air or hydraulic lines; measure, cut, thread, and install new pipe with precision.
  • Reassemble and start up equipment to verify repairs and adjust as needed.
  • Fabricate or restore parts using a lathe, drill press, grinder, and related metalworking tools.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED; or five (5) years of related experience/training; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years of machinery repair and troubleshooting (required).
  • Must have advanced experience with hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic systems.
  • PLC knowledge is a bonus.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Regularly walk and reach with hands/arms; frequently stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk/hear.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to heights, fumes/airborne particles, outdoor weather, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Noise level is usually very loud.

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Schedule: 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Auburn Hills, MI 48326 — Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)
