Progressive Stamping Die Maintenance Technician

What a Day Looks Like

Join our first-shift team keeping high-precision progressive stamping dies running at their best. From morning diagnostics to afternoon fine-tuning, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring quality parts and on-time production.

Morning

• Review parts using stamping gauges; fine-tune dies to hit spec.
• Interpret CMM layouts to guide accurate adjustments.
• Verify die sensor functionality; set pad and manifold pressures; check nitrogen cylinders.

Midday

• Perform bench PM on progressive dies, spotting wear and damage before they become issues.
• Sharpen and fit die details; shim to hold timing, shear, and stagger.
• Contribute upgrades and continuous-improvement tweaks to tools and processes.

Afternoon

• Troubleshoot in-press concerns and chase down scrap mark sources.
• Build new details as needed (sections, punches, and more) and repair cracked/welded components.
• Run machine tools—mill, surface grinder, lathe, profiler—to complete precision work.
• Log time and activities in the PM database.

How You Work

• Keep your station organized and tidy.
• Follow quality procedures and work instructions; measure with micrometers, calipers, and process gauges; record results clearly.
• Use all safety devices correctly at all times, including safety blocks.
• Support team decisions, share knowledge, and coach operators when needed.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of die repair experience (required).
• Journeyman License (preferred).
• Proficiency in Mechanical Systems & Component Repair and Tool/Die/Mold repair.
