Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Mixer/Matcher to accurately mix and match paint colors according to customer, production, or job specifications. The ideal candidate has strong color-matching skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate paint-mixing equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
  • Mix and match paint colors accurately using formulas, color charts, and computerized mixing systems.
  • Measure and combine pigments, tints, bases, and other materials according to specified formulas.
  • Perform color matching and make adjustments to achieve the required color and finish.
  • Prepare paint for customer orders, production jobs, or refinishing applications.
  • Operate and maintain paint mixing machines, scales, tinting equipment, and related tools.
  • Check finished paint for color accuracy, consistency, viscosity, and quality.
  • Label, package, and store mixed paint products properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of formulas, batches, and inventory usage.
  • Keep the mixing area, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow company safety procedures and proper handling guidelines for paints, solvents, and chemicals.
  • Communicate with customers, painters, production staff, or supervisors regarding color requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in paint mixing, color matching, automotive refinishing, industrial coatings, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong ability to identify and distinguish colors and shades.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to read and follow mixing formulas and technical instructions.
  • Comfortable using computers and computerized paint-mixing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely handle paint, solvents, pigments, and related materials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move paint containers and materials as required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive measuring, mixing, and handling tasks.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position may involve working in a paint shop, automotive body shop, manufacturing facility, or other production environment. Employees may be exposed to paint fumes, chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures and must follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
